President Mahinda Rajapaksa and First Lady Shiranthi Wickremasinghe Rajapaksa attended a reception hosted by U.S. President Barack Obama and U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama on Tuesday (Sept. 23) evening in New York City.
The reception is an annual event held during the United Nations General Assembly for visiting heads of state and government.
President Rajapaksa arrived in New York on Monday (Sept. 22) evening to attend several events taking place this week, including the U.N. Climate Summit 2014, the annual meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative and the 69th Session of the U.N. General Assembly.
