The South Asian Agricultural Research and Farmers’ Coordinating Workshop opened in Colombo yesterday. The meeting will continue until today. The conference opened under the patronage of Minister Duminda Dissanayake. Representatives from countries such as Pakistan, India, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are participating.
The meeting will focus its attention on finding solutions to problems that affect the agricultural sector as a result of climatic changes in the region. It will also discuss initiatives that should be taken regional wise on food security as well as improving the agricultural sector.
