President of FFSL Ranjith Rodrigo welcoming Dr Fuller and Delegates of FIFA, B.A. Abeyratne, Director Sports and Physical Education Ministry of Education, Dr. Lal Ekanayeka newly appointed AFC Medical Committee Member and Sports ministry Medical Unit, Thilak Alponsu, project Officer expressed his gratitude to all specially Joseph S. Blatter, FIFA President for assisting Sri Lanka in many ways to promote the Global game. He had a special tribute to Dr, Fuller and the Instructors for untiring efforts made to educate our teachers who will in turn have the challenges to make this programme a success to make a healthy nation.
He thanked the Ministers of Health, Education and Sports for all their blessings and approvals to have this programme successfully in Sri Lanka. Abeyrathne - Director Education Ministry stressed the point that this programme has come to Sri Lanka at the correct time when the Education ministry has taken many steps to implement sports and physical education in a compulsory manner to make a healthy nation and advised all teachers to carry out this well defined programme to make it a success.
Contributing his experiences with local trainers and administrators of Sri Lankan team of FIFA 11 for Health Dr. Fuller congratulate for being best at all times and also wished that they will continue with the next step of implementation of the project. He shared his personal experiences in Africa and said that it is their utmost duty to create a healthy way of living for children and that's why this programme is so unique to implement in a successful manner.
He said he is very confident that the Federation will achieve desired goals of FIFA 11 for Health programme under the stewardship of President FFSL Ranjith Rodrigo and National Leader of the Project Anura De Silva and enthusiastic team of trainers. Anura De Silva proposed the vote of Thanks and the Trainers were awarded certificates which followed a fellowship.
