Leaders of political parties in parliament have decided to hold an adjournment debate on the 20th Amendment to the Constitution on Tuesday (23) and Wednesday (24).
Leader of the House Lakshman Kiriella said the decision was taken Monday when party leaders met to decide on the agenda for the parliament sessions.
Several MPs including Dinesh Gunawardena, Tissa Vitharana, Vasudeva Nanayakkara and Rauff Hakeem have made requests for a two-day debate in parliament.
Minor political parties in the parliament strongly oppose the 20th Amendment that was gazetted last week.
