Speaking at the opening of the new three storied building of the Akurana Provincial Council on Thursday, President Sirisena said that the new government has taken measures to ensure freedom and democratic rights for the people in the country, in the past few months.

The new building was constructed at a cost of rupees 8 million.

Ministers Rauf Hakeem, A.H.M.Faowzie, Central Province Governor Surangani Ellawala, Chief Minisgter Sarath Ekanayake were present at the event.
