The Prime Minister stressed that this government’s main intention was to establish good governance by eliminating corruption and fraud and emphasised that he will never influence anyone in implementing law against criminals. The Prime Minister referring to various comments made by certain media during an interview to Hiru TV after assuming duties as the Prime Minister, said interviews were given in the order in which interviews were requested from him during the time of the previous Presidential Election and it is not fair to spread false opinions in that regard by stating that it was a result of a deal.
During the statement in Parliament, the Prime Minister requested the Speaker to hold an inquiry on false allegations against him by certain media as it was a breach of his rights and privileges.
