    President felicitated at his hometown district Featured

    A Presidential Commission will be appointed within the coming week to probe into financial malpractices, corruption and frauds of the former Government, President Maithripala Sirisena said on Monday (09) at the Aralaganwila Public Market premises.

    The event was organized for the President to felicitate the people of his hometown district, Polonnaruwa for his victory.
     
     
    The president conveying his displeasure over the delay in investigating corruptions, said that he  would now take steps in line with the powers vested in him as the Executive President of this country to bring to book those responsible for large scale corruptions by appointing a Presidential Commission.  He also emphasized that he would not consider position, rank or political affiliations when punishing the culprits.
     
     
    Chief Minister of North Central Province Pehsala Jayarathna and  political representatives of  Provincial Councils and Pradeshiya Sabhas were present.
