    President Sirisena Visits Several Buddhist Temples Featured

    President Maithripala Sirisena on Wednesday (14) visited several Buddhist Temples and called on the Mahanayake Theras and other members of Maha Sangha . The Maha Sangha chanted pirith and performed religious rites invoking the blessings of the Triple Gem upon President Maithripala Sirisena

    The President visited Sri Vidya Vijayarama Temple in Pagoda, Nugegoda and received blessings from the Mahanayaka Thera of the Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Chapter Aggamaha Panditha and Rajakeeya Panditha Most Ven Dawuldena Gnanissara Maha Nayaka Thera.

     

    The President then called on the Mahanayaka Thera of Kotte, Siamese Chapter Most Ven Ittapana Dhammalankara Mahanayaka Thera of Sri Dharma Vijayaloka Maha Vihara in Rukmale Pannipitiya and received blessings.

     

    Thereafter he visited the Kalapaluwawa Gothama Thapowanaya, where he was blessed by President of Sri Lanka Amarapura Sangha Council and Sri Kalyani Chapter Nikaya’s Maha Nayaka Most Ven Dodampahala Chandrasiri Nayaka Thera.


    Then the President called on the Chief Prelate of the Bellanwila Rajamaha Vihara, Ven Prof Bellanwila Wimalarathana Nayaka Thera and received blessings from the Chief Prelate.
