Pelpola who held higher posts in the Public and Private sectors, worked as the Private Secretary to late Minister Gamini Dissanayake.
He also worked as the Director of the Mahaweli Centre and the Director General of the Mahaweli Authority. In the meantime he worked as the Secretary to late Minister Gamini Dissanayake when he was the Opposition Leader.
He held the post of Chief Executive Officer of Leader Publication and worked as an English Writer at Phoenix Ogilvy. (KH)
