    Piriven Teachers have always acted with national consciousness - President Featured

    President Mahinda Rajapaksa said that he is willing to abolish the Executive Presidency if and when separatism is eradicated and added that it is an indisputable fact that the Executive Presidency played a pivotal role in eradicating terrorism.

    The President was addressing a meeting attended by more than 5000 Piriven teachers at Temple Trees on Sunday (19).

     

    President Rajapaksa further said that Piriven teachers are a group who has always acted with national consciousness and it is the present government the present which has spent a sum of 300 million rupees to enhance the piriven education.

     

    The pirivena teachers extended their gratitude to President Rajapaksa for the support rendered so far to strengthen the country’s Piriven Education.

     

    Prime Minister D.M.Jayarathna, Ministers Bandula Gunawardena, S.B.Navinna, Deputy Minister Mohan Lal Grero were present on the occasion.(KH)
