Irrigation and Water Management Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said in Parliament today (22) that the required number of nutritionists in the health service should be 45 but there were only four of them working currently.
Responding to a query raised by UNP Kurunegala District MP Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, the minister said that recruitments were being made to fill the existing number of vacancies for nutritionists in government hospitals. Examinations to recruit nutritionists were held recently (August 16), the minister said adding that the vacancies would be filled very soon. (Special Reporter)
