    PM meets Islamic county leaders

    Prime Minister RanilWickremesinghe yesterday (2nd Aug.) was engaged in bilateral discussions with the leaders of Islamic countries on the sidelines of the 12th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) being held in Indonesia.

    Minister for Oceanic Affairs of Indonesia Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Tajikistani President Emomali Rahmon, Jordani Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Jawad Al-Anani, Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Abdul Razak, Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Dr.Ahmed Mohamed Ali, and the Chairman of the World Islamic Economic Forum Foundation Tun Musa Hitam had separate discussions with PM Wickremesinghe.

     

    The bilateral discussions with the leaders of the Islamic countries were very important and they exchanged views on mutual cooperation.

     

    According to the Chairman of WIFE Tun Musa Hitam, a sub-session of the World Islamic Economic Forum is expected to be held in Sri Lanka in the future. The Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Dr.Ahmed Mohamed Ali assured the fullest co-operation for Sri Lanka after it received the observation membership from the Organization of the Islamic Co-operation.
