    Pride of the Nation could be built by respecting others - President in Badulla Featured

    The President Mahinda Rajapaksa said the pride of the nation could be built by respecting others and not by violence. The President expressed this view with regard to the present situation in the country at the Badulla District Development Committee Meeting on Saturday (21)

     

    He said it is clearly evident that there is an re-attempt to destabilize the country thereby the peace and reconciliation again which was established after defeating separatism. He requested all citizens to act in unity and harmony and ensure sovereignty of the country understanding the gravity of this situation. The President emphasised that no one could be allowed to take the law into their hands. He said he has ordered the police and the security forces to take stern action against the law breakers.

     

    Maha Sangha and representatives of the clergy, Ministers Nimal Siripala de Silva, Basil Rajapaksa, Bandula Gunawardena, W.D.J.Senevirathna, Pavitra Wanniarachchi, Dullas Alahapperuma, Felix Perera, Dilan Perera, Vijith Vijithamuni de Soysa, Uva Province Governor Nanda Magthew, Chief Minister Shasheendra Rajapksa, Presidential Chief of Staff Gamini Senarath, Finance Ministry Secretary P.B.Jadulla District Secretary Rohana K.Dissanayake and Government officials participated in the meeting.
