    Kandy JVP Activists pledge support to President

    A large number of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna Activists in the Kandy District who worked with dedication for the party met President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the President's house in Kandy Friday evening and extended their fullest support to the President.



    Kandy Districts JVP Provincial council candidates, former Pradesahiya Sabha members and electorate organizers, trade union representatives and student union members of the JVPwere among those present.


    The former JVP Paliamentarians and organisers have formed an association called the Kandy District Forum and they envisage to implement a program to bring together the JVP members who are disgruntle of the party activities and wanted to extend support to the president.

    Convener of the organization and former JVP member of the Minipe Pradeshiya Sabha Nandarathana Dissanayake said that the present day JVP is engaged in a pro-colonialist policy. The party now has no sogans and launching unfounded accusations against the government. The group has pledged fullest support to the government at every future election.

    Vrntral Province Chief Minister Satath Ekanayake also participated at the event.(kh/dn)
