Criticizing the previous administration, the Minister said the previous Government took steps to improve infrastructure facilities in the country by obtaining loans at high interest rates and this does not benefit the country.

"There are many issues left for our Government to tackle. Current govt tax collection are mainly from indirect taxes, direct taxes only account for minor amount. Laws with regard to taxes are too complicated for the public to understand and the government hopes to make a sturdy tax structure.
