He said that under the first phase Consultants and Doctors will be provided houses and already tenders have been called. Under the second stage nurses, interim medical officers and subsequently the health sector works will be provided with houses. They will be built as luxury houses.

Minister Senarathna said that the housing problem in the health sector has caused many issues in hospitals.  When they are sent on transfer to hospitals they face many hardships due to the non availability of housing. Therefore considering this situation the minister has decided to build houses.
