    May 16, 2017

Exports from Sri Lankan manufacturers will be allowed to enter into EU market without any custom duties from Friday (19Tth May), Ambassador Tung – Lai Margue said this morning in Colombo.

He said it is expected that the GSP Plus would boost many exports in number values, mainly garments and textiles, and also rubber products, small machinery, fisheries as well as food products and tea.

“Sri Lanka with the increase that we expect of the exports towards EU, will be able to reduce the trade deficit that you have got in your country”, he added.

Sri Lanka lost trade facility GSP+ in 2010.
