The Met Dept. forecasts fairly rough seas at times from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota as the winds can strengthen up to 50 -60 kmph at times.
Winds will be South-westerly and speed will be 20-40 kmph.
Showers will occur at times in the sea area off the coast extending from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle. Showers or thundershowers can be expected at a few places in the other sea areas during the period from 2 pm to 8 pm.
