Aluthgama and Beruwala based troops of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West), covering the Municipal Council area of Beruwala, launched a Dengue eradication programme on Tuesday (9) on the directions of Major General U.A.B Medawela, Commander, SFHQ-West.
32 Army personnel, 8 Policemen, 72 Municipal Council employees and 8 employees from the Divisional Secretariat inspected 799 houses and gave necessary instructions for removal of garbage inside those dwelling places.
The programme started at 8.00 a.m. and continued for about 7 hours.
