An employee of the Army owned Laya Hotel at Wadduwa Holiday Resort who pleaded guilty to a charge of selling liquor at the hotel without a licence from the Excise Commissioner was fined Rs. 10,000 by Panadura Additional Magistrate Sandun Vithana.
The Additional Magistrate also imposed a Rs. 150,000 fine on another employee of Laya Hotel who pleaded guilty to the charges of possessing arrack and beer.
The court ordered that the stock of bottle of arrack and beer cans be handed over to the Homagama Army Camp Commander.
