The Department of National Zoological Gardens said that training of elephants for regular elephant shows would be carried out in February.

The National Zoological Gardens in Dehiwala will recommence daily elephant shows in March this year. The elephant shows were temporarily suspended in April last year due to suspense over several elephants being infected with Tuberculosis. Now medical tests carried out by veterinary surgeons have confirmed that the elephants are not being infected with Tuberculosis.
