Non-destructive testing ensures testing of any material without causing any damage to the material. This technology is deployed to enhance productivity and ensure safety wile preventing possible accidents during the testing process of standard of factories, buildings, bridges, air crafts, ships, boilers etc. In view of the rapid development process presently prevailing in Sri Lanka, non-destructive testing system will be an essential technology in order to enhance the quality in industry and construction field.
All relevant tests such as Radiographic testing, Ultra Solic Testing, Magnetic Partial Testing, Liquid Penetrant Testing and Eddy Current Testing could be done in this research laboratory. It is also envisaged to conduct researches and development activities pertaining to non-destrutive testing in this research institute.
