The Visual Arts & Design and Performing Arts Unit of the Department of Fine Arts will receive $ 5000 annually under this MOU to improve the state of public sector hospitals under the project, titled “Art for Humanity”.
This year, the students and the Advisory Board, under the purview of the Academic Staff of the Visual Arts & Design and Performing Arts Unit of the Department of Fine Arts decided to create a comfortable environment for the patients and families of the Psychiatric Ward of the North Colombo Teaching Hospital, Ragama.
The MOU was signed by Prof. Y.M. Sunanda Madduma Bandara, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya and Osman Khalid Waheed, the President, Ferozsons Pharmaceutical Limited. The Manager, Emerchemie NB Limited, Sri Lanka, a member of the Advisory Board was also present at the occasion as a delegate.(KH)
