Chief Minister addressing a meeting of top level public sector officials held at the Chief Minister’s office last week said the number of dengue patients in the province had increased by 25% to 35% during the recent past and emphasized that all officials should participate in today’s programme to eradicate the possibilities of the spread of the disease.
CM Jayasekera said that members of the security forces and police, school children and Grama Niladharis in the area should take the lead in today’s programme and instructed chairmen of the Pradeshiya Sabhas to inspect the implementation of the programme in their respective divisions.
Health Minister of the Wayamba Provincial Council D.B. Herath, Chief Secretary of the Province Jayantha Wijeratne, and secretaries to the ministries of the WPC were also among those present.
