As part of the "Clean Sri Lanka" campaign, a nationwide programme is underway to create an educational environment that promotes national values, integrates social principles, and emphasizes environmental sustainability, centered on the theme, "A School Full of Happiness."
The Sri Lanka Navy is a key partner of the "Clean Sri Lanka" campaign, aligning with the government's vision of "Beautiful Island, Smiling People." In line with this vision, the Navy is actively contributing to the mission of the Clean Sri Lanka project, aiming to reposition the nationwide efforts of environmental, social, and governance initiatives through introducing change, integration, and collaboration.
Under the theme "A School Full of Happiness," schools are encouraged to foster a joyful, innovative, disciplined, and talent-driven community by establishing a clean, caring, and secure learning environment. This initiative aims to lay the groundwork for both personal and societal growth. As part of this initiative, which focuses on cleaning school premises and enhancing infrastructure, the Navy has successfully revitalized 25 schools, transforming them into spaces that promote effective learning for students.
The cleaning programme at Habarana Maha Vidyalaya, which aimed to promote cleanliness and environmental awareness while strengthening ties between the Navy and the local community was carried out under the supervision of Commander North Central Naval Area.
