    The IMF representatives emphasised how important it is to carry out the reforms precisely as intended, while the Acting Minister of Finance, Hon. Shehan Semasinghe, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the reforms that Sri Lanka is implementing under his directions to overcome the economic crisis.

    The Bill aimed at classifying public images to safeguard freedom of speech, expression, and creative rights was recently handed over to President’s Secretary Mr. Saman Ekanayake at the Presidential Secretariat by the committee, appointed by President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

    The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Sabry addressed the NAM Ministerial Committee on Palestine, at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the NAM on 17 January 2024 in Kampala.

    President Ranil Wickremesinghe took centre stage in a recent roundtable discussion organized by the Consortium of Indian Industry (CII) and World Economic Forum yesterday (16), unveiling a comprehensive economic vision for Sri Lanka. The President emphasized the successful resolution of supply bottlenecks, the removal of import restrictions and the restoration of foreign exchange liquidity as key factors contributing to sustained economic growth.
