Glasgow to host first World Hepatitis Summit

    July 30, 2015

‎The global burden of viral hepatitis can be overcome only when the world is united in action. WHO, in joint partnership with the Scottish Government and the World Hepatitis Alliance, is co-organizing the World Hepatitis Summit in Glasgow, Scotland on 2-4 September 2015.

The Summit aims to bring top global leaders, national policy-makers and public health experts together to garner political and financial commitments required to tackling viral hepatitis epidemics.

As a platform to improve the creation and implementation of action plans through sharing of best practice, the World Hepatitis Summit will directly support the WHA67.R7 resolution, adopted at the 67th World Health Assembly. WHO will present its new toolkit to assist governments in the development and implementation of strategies and provide the opportunity for governments to learn about WHO’s Global Hepatitis Programme and the progress towards target setting and a monitoring framework.
