There were 238 aftershocks clearly perceptible in the recent 18 days, which accounts for an average of over 13 ones per day and more than one every two hours.

The April 25 earthquake caused more than 8,000 fatalities and damages valued at millions, but also psychological traumas that will affect forever those who survived, always on alert for the slightest earth tremor even when they try to sleep.

Their fear was well founded yesterday when a 7.3 earthquake shook again the little country in the Himalayas and according to preliminary reports issued by the ministry of Interior it claimed 65 lives and injured more than 2,000 people.

The epicenter was located in northeastern Nepal, near the Mount Everest, but the tremor was perceptible in India and Bangladesh and almost immediately six consecutive aftershocks were felt, one of them of 6.2 degrees on the Richter scale.

According to the most recent report by the ministry of Interior, more than half the fatal victims of yesterday earthquake lived in the Dolakha district, which was severely affected by the April 25 earthquake.
