South Korea's President Accepts Prime Minister's Resignation

    April 28, 2015

Seoul: South Korean President Park Geun Hye accepted today the resignation of Prime Minister Lee Wan Koo over bribery allegations, the second premier to quit in a year.

Lee, 64, submitted his offer last week to Park, who returned Monday from a 12-day trip to Latin America. He is alleged to have received 30 million won in bribes from a local businessman.

The allegations against the Prime Minister emerged just as President Park was preparing to depart on a tour to Colombia, Peru, Chile and Brazil.
