Abuja: A massive explosion ripped through the cargo wing of Lagos international airport Murtala Muhammed in Nigeria's commercial capital on Thursday (April 01) night and witnesses said they feared there would be casualties.
"The explosion tore through the building,the place is still on fire with smoke rising high" reported Prensa Latina News Agency quoting a witness.
Ambulances have raced to the scene and a helicopter is flying overhead, while fire fighters struggle the flames.
There was no immediate explanation for the origin of the blast at the complex, which is usually crowded with cargo agents and clients.
