India successfully launched its most powerful rocket on Thursday (18) from the Srikarikota base in Andhra Pradesh state.
The successful launch of the GSLV Mark – III takes the Indian Space Research Organisation a step closer to sending astronauts to space.
Part of the rocket's mission is to test a crew module for the safe return of humans from space, according to the ISRO. (ST/KH)
