Russia Is Concerned about Western Lethal Aid to Ukraine

    December 18, 2014

Moscow: Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov on Wednesday expressed Russia's concern about possible supplies of weapons to Ukraine by the West, and called on those countries to foster political dialogue in that Slavic republic.

I know that over the past few weeks, the debate on the so-called supplies of "lethal weapons" to Kiev has intensified in a worrying way, said Ryabkov when commenting that NATO planes had transported the weapons to Ukraine secretly.

The deputy minister pointed out that if the West is interested in solving the Ukrainian crisis, it should promote the beginning of inclusive dialogue among all parties politically involved and the adoption of a constitutional reform, the First channel of Russian television reported.
Prensa Latina News Agency quoted Victoria Kushnir, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, having confirmed that thanks to the West's assistance, despite the crisis that keeps the country on the verge of bankruptcy, the Armed Forces continue receiving new and better military technology.(KH)
