Thousands dressed as Santa take part in annual run

    December 16, 2014

More than six thousand runners took part in a 10 kilometre race through the suburbs of Paris dressed as Santa Claus. For the runners, who are mostly amateurs, the atmosphere is a lot more relaxed than other races. While some ran in Santa costumes, others dressed as snowmen, Christmas trees and one ran in a suit of armour.

Meanwhile, Costa Ricans welcomed the Christmas season with a colourful festival of lights, street performers and dancing in San Jose. Not even rain managed to put off spectators, who gathered under umbrellas and tents to watch the parade through the centre of the city. The parade, an initiative of San Jose’s local government, attracts massive crowds each year.
