    Pakistan, Iran sign 5 MoUs to enhance cooperation

    Pakistan and Iran have signed five memorandums of understanding to boost cooperation in diverse sectors.

    Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif witnessed the signing of MoUs in Islamabad on Tuesday (09)​ evening at the conclusion of 19th session of Pakistan-Iran Joint Economic Commission.


    Under the agreements, both the countries would cooperate in the field of investment, economic and technical assistance, small and medium enterprises, ports, and handicrafts.


    Earlier, the Iranian Minister for Economic Affairs and Finance, Dr. Ali Tayyebnia called on Prime Minster Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday.


    The discussions focused on Pakistan-Iran bilateral relations, with particular reference to the economic dimension. Both sides underscored the importance attached to deeper bilateral relations for increased trade and economic cooperation.


    Iranian Minister is visiting Pakistan to attend the 19th session of the Pakistan-Iran Joint Economic Commission, being held in Islamabad.


    The Prime Minister hoped that the session would open new areas of cooperation while fortifying the existing initiatives that the two brotherly countries have engaged in so far.


    The meeting agreed to increase mutual investment and bilateral trade between the two countries.The Prime Minister conveyed his best wishes to Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
