    SAARC Council of Ministers considers 18th SAARC Summit Draft Declaration

    The 36th Session of the SAARC Council of Ministers concluded in Kathmandu on Tuesday (25).

     

    The Meeting reviewed the progress of implementation of the decisions taken as well as issues considered at the 35th Session of the Council of Ministers. It also considered and approved the Report of the 41st Session of the Standing Committee held in Kathmandu on 23-24 November 2014. Besides, the Meeting considered Reports/Records of various Ministerial Meetings held earlier.

     

    The Meeting also deliberated on matters relating to the SAARC areas of cooperation, including SAARC Finance, Poverty Alleviation, Agriculture and Rural Development, and Social Development, Health and Population. The Meeting considered and approved the Provisional Agenda for the 18th Summit Meeting of the Heads of State/Government. It also considered the Draft Declaration of the 18th SAARC Summit.

     

    As the Chair of SAARC, Nepal will host the next Meeting of the SAARC Council of Ministers at a mutually convenient date.(KH)
