    China Announces 40 Billion Dollars to the Silk Road

    Beijing,President of China, Xi Jinping, on Saturday (08) announced the commitment of his country to contribute with 40 billion dollars to a fund for the establishment of an economic belt on the Silk Road.


    During a dialogue with Asian leaders on strengthening regional connectivity and cooperation between China and its neighboring countries, the head of state said that this amount is intended to set the background called Silk Road.


    Its goal is to end the bottleneck that exists in connectivity in Asia, said the president in his meeting with leaders of Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan and Tajikistan.


    Also present were representatives of the Economic and Social Commission of the United Nations Asia-Pacific and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.


    Xi said that the fund will be open to all and welcome is given to investors from Asia and elsewhere to actively participate in this project.(KH)
