Sri Lankan Ambassador Tilak Ranaviraja conveyed greetings from President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe to the French President François Hollande at a reception held on 12th January at the Presidential palace, Palais de l’Elysée.
Ambassador Ranaviraja thanked President Hollande for the support extended for the lifting of the EU fisheries ban and the reinstating of the GSP+ scheme. In response, President Hollande acknowledged the progressive developments underway in Sri Lanka and the positive attention gained by the Government of Sri Lanka in re-engaging with the international community.
