    Pakistan Announces Prestigious Jinnah Scholarships 2016 for Sri Lankan Youth Featured

    High Commission of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Sri Lanka invites applications for Jinnah Scholarship from deserving Sri Lankan students pursuing their studies at O/Ls and A/Ls.

     


    The Government of Pakistan is awarding Jinnah Scholarships for Sri Lanka O/Ls and A/Ls students for the past 11 years through the High Commission in Sri Lanka.


     
    This scholarships scheme was named after the great statesman and leader of the Sub Continent, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.


     
    The scholarships are awarded on the basis of a strict criteria involving merit and need for financial assistance. Under this program, each successful student receives stipend of Rs.24,000 as assistance for one year to pursue their studies. The Government of Pakistan is awarding the Jinnah Educational Scholarships since 2005 and so far over 1,500 Sri Lankan Students have benefited from this scheme. During the past 11 years approximately Rs.43 million worth of scholarships have been awarded for promoting the Sri Lankan youth and the education sector in Sri Lanka.


     
    During year 2015 the Government of Pakistan awarded over Rs.3.67 million worth of educational scholarships to 154 bright Sri Lankan O/L and A/L students under Jinnah Educational Scholarship program.


     
    The application forms may be collected from the High Commission located at 42 and 44 Bullers Lane, Colombo 7. The forms can also be downloaded from the official website of the High Commission www.pakistanhc.lk. The Last date for receipt of applications is 31st May 2016.
