India refreshes the 22 years dismal history

    September 02, 2015

The India - Sri Lanka Test series concluded yesterday at Colombo with some records in the international Cricket Arena.

India caught the series for 2-1 matches under the guidance of the Skipper Virat Kholi.

India stabilized the victory at the final day of the 3rd and the final test beating the hosts, Sri lanka by 117 runs yesterday at SSC ground Colombo.

Sri Lanka was set a victory target of 386 runs and were all out for 268 demolishing their victory dream.

The Skipper Angelo Mathews scoring a century and Kusal Perera scoring his second half century on debut play, kept the country's hopes flickering with an attractive batsmenship of 135 run stand for the sixth wicket.

But the dismissal of the Kusal Perera for 70 and Mathews at 110 handed over the victory towards India.

This is recorded as the First time that India won a series 22 years later in Sri Lanka after 1993 Under Mohammed Azharuddin.
