Diyawadana Nilame of the Sri Dalada Maligawa Pradeep Nilanga Dela during a a meeting of the Kandy Perahera Trust, representatives of the public sector and the community welfare organisations., made this announcement.

Kap planting at the Devales would take place on August 15 and the Perhera rituals would be held within the Devales till August 19, the Diyawadana Nilame said.

The Perahera will be parading the streets from August 20 to August 24, followed by the Randoli Perahera on August 25. The Randoli Perhera will continue till August 29.

Water-cutting ceremony will take place on the morning of August 30 and the Day Perahera will parade the streets in the afternoon of the same day.

The same day afternoon the Nilames of the Devales will call on the President to submit the Perahera Sandeshaya in accordance with custom.
