On the guidelines given by Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake for promotion of ‘Reconciliation through Sports’, the Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna (SFHQ-J), commanded by Major General Udaya Perera, organized the two-day tournament in Jaffna Hindu College ground, Jaffna Central College ground and Palaly Army Camp ground before the finals were staged at the Duraiappa Stadium, Jaffna.
Lieutenant General Ratnayake attended the closing ceremony of the tournament as the Chief Guest, together with Hon. Douglas Devananda, Minister of Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise and Major General (Retd) G.A Chandrasiri, Governor, Northern Province several senior officers including Major General Udaya Perera.
The Army won the overall championship. Currently Major General Udaya Perera works as the Chairman of Sri Lanka Army Elle Association. Here are achievements;

With the aim of promoting understanding and collective spirits, 29 Elle matches, including a few from the North and Wanni were held during those two days (July 5-6) before the grand finale on Sunday (6).
Lieutenant General Ratnayake congratulated the winners and gave away trophies and merit awards to the winners in the tournament after a brief speech to the occasion.
