President Maithripala Sirisena made an observation visit to Weli-Oya colony in July to seek about the issues faced by the farming community there.
When the people informed about their problems to the President, he promised to take immediate actions for the issue on drinking water; one of major problems faced by them.
The people in Weli–Oya expressed their gratitude to President Sirisena for looking into their well – being and taking actions to fulfill the requirements.
Major General Boniface Perera stated the government will take every action under the directive of President Maithripala Sirisena to find solutions for the issue of drinking water which is a main cause for kidney disease.
In parallel to this, several farming wells, built by the members of tri-forces, in connection with the Special Presidential Task Force were offered to the public. The Commander Security Forces, Wanni also observed the new houses built in the Nandimithra Village.
Director of the Presidential Task Force on Prevention of Kidney Diseases Mr. Asela Iddawela also participated in this event.
