    President Pledges to Safeguard Jan. 8 Victory of the People Featured

    Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena said that no one will be allowed to hamper the public mandate  that made a transformation  in the country on January 08. 

     

    Pointing out that the people carried out a “silent revolution” on January 08 on behalf of the country’s freedom and democracy, President Sirisena emphasised that he would do his utmost to safeguard the victory of the people while upholding good governance.

     

    The President made this statement yesterday at a ceremony held at the Matara Nilwala Exist point to inaugurate the  construction on the section of the Southern Express way from Godagama to Hambantota.

     

    The President further said that the decisions taken by him  as the Head of State and as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) will not  hamper the  and the transformation that took place on the 8th of January.

     

    Chinese Ambassador Yi Xiangliang was present on the occasion.
