Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena participated in a religious ceremony at Mahamevuna Bodhignana Monestary at Hewagama, Kaduwela.
He opened a newly constructed “Siri Gauthama Dwara Mandapaya, Siri Gauthama Bodhi Mandapa and Prathimagara.
Thereafter, the President offered Atapirikara to Maha Sangha headed by Chairman of the Amarapura Chapter Most Ven. Kiribathgoda Gnanananda Thera and participated at the Bodhi Pooja.
Ministers, state officials and a large gathering of devotees were present.
