President Maithripala Sirisena said that there should be unity among people of all faiths and everyone has a responsibility to ensure that all communities live without fear.
The President expressed this when he hosted an Iftar ceremony at Temple Trees on Monday (29).
He also emphasised on the importance of holding events of this nature to strengthen national reconciliation.
A large number of Islam religious leaders and devotees as well as A.H.M.Fowzie and Rishad Bathiudeen were present at the Iftar ceremony.
This is the first Iftar programme hosted by President Sirisena.
