President Maithripala Sirisena said that the government will take all measures necessary to strengthen national security. He emphasised that during the last three months, many key decisions were taken by the new government in this regard.

He said that foreign leaders who visited our country, and the leaders of other countries whom he met during his foreign visits, have expressed their willingness to provide modern research-based high tech military training programmes for our security personnel.

The President also commended the ongoing relief and rescue efforts being carried out by Sri Lankan Security Forces personnel in Nepal setting an example to the world.

President Sirisena also recalled how bravely the Security Forces personnel wiped out terrorism from the country a few years ago and praised the services that they render to the society at large.
