    Pakistan's NA Speaker discusses National Govt. concept with SL President

    Speaker of National Assembly of Pakistan Mr. Ayaz Sadiq when he called on Sri Lankan President Sirisena, pointed out the importance of developing economic and commercial relationships between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. He also discussed the concept of National Government in Sri Lanka. President Sirisena, while explaining the current political situation in Sri Lanka, said today the country has a national government which represents two major political parties. He added that his desire is to continue the national government even after the next parliamentary elections.

    Speaker of National Assembly of Pakistan Mr. Ayaz Sadiq and the Adviser to Pakistani Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Mr. Sartaj Aziz, called on Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena in Islamabad, Pakistan on April 06.

     

    During the meeting between the President and Pakistani National Security Adviser Mr. Sartaj Aziz, the need of strengthening of the relations based on historic friendship between the two countries was emphasized. The attention was paid on developing relationships by ensuring the similarity and dignity of every country in SARRCH region.

     

    President Sirisena pointed out that new government of Sri Lanka is performing with new vision and agenda. He said Sri Lanka expects to continue the relationships with Pakistan which has been continuing from the regime of Mrs. Sirimavo Bandaranaike.
