A tremendous response has been received from all stakeholders for the request I made to utilize the money meant for election campaign for prevention of Kidney Disease, said President Maithripala Sirisena. He further said that a Presidential Task Force has been established and national level programmes have been launched, and a drastic improvement could be seen in providing treatment and preventive methods for Kidney Patients.

President Maithreepala Sirisena made these observations at the launch of a national trust fund for Kidney patients on Wednesday (26). The launch was held at the Galle Face Hotel with the participation of business community. Several business organizations present at the occasion donated funds for the trust fund. Holcim Lanka has donated 8 million rupees for the fund.

Rajitha Senarathne, Minister of Health, Harsha de Silva, Deputy Minister of Finance, Ranjith Somawansa, Health Minister/WPC, .P.B.Abeykoone, Secretary to the President, Asela Iddawala, Chairman of Holcin Lanka and Business community were present on this occasion.
