    President pays his last respects to former Dy.Minister, Athula Nimalasiri Jayasinghe.

    The President who went to the residence of late Athula Nimalasiri at Gonahena in Kadawatha Sunday paid his last respects to the former Deputy Minister, Athula Nimalasiri Jayasinghe.

    Athula Nimalasiri who was an active JVP member of the 1971 rebellion, was later known as Loku Athula. He entered into active politics and was elected as a Provincial Councilor from the 1987 Provincial Council Elections.

     

    Late Jayasinghe who was one of the pioneers of the Sri Lanka Mahajana Party, was the Deputy Leader of the Party at the time of his demise at the age of 70 years.

     

    The remains of Late Mr. Jayasinghe are lying in state at his residence at No.210, Gonahena in Kadawatha. The funeral will be held on Thursday, afternoon at the Gonahena Family Burial Ground.
