The President has vested in the public, the renovated Anuradhapura – Trincomalee main road. The Anuradhapura – Trincomalee main road renovated at a cost of 9,500 million rupees was handed over to the people under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The renovation of this 97 kilometer long route will provide the opportunity to the public to arrive in the East within a short period of time from anywhere in the Island. The renovations were conducted under the supervision of the Road Development Authority.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
